Who are we?

Get Into London Theatre (GILT) is run by Society Of London Theatre (SOLT). Founded in 1908 by Sir Charles Wyndham, SOLT is the organisation that represents the producers, theatre owners and managers of the major commercial and grant-aided theatres in central London.

History

Get Into London Theatre (GILT) is a unique ticket promotion which was originally launched by the Mayor of London in direct response to the events of September 11th. In 2002 the scheme was called ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’, then in following years took on the title ‘Get Into London Theatre’.

The GILT brand was also called upon in 2012 to help promote London as the theatre capital of the world during the Olympic and Paralympic games.

GILT has grown in popularity over the years and now consistently sells over 70,000 tickets every year.

Did you know?

Since it began GILT has sold approximately 600,000 tickets, enough to fill the London Palladium 218 times over. That's a lot of happy theatregoers!
